I Guess Sharing Is OK

So hi, this is Duke. So usually me and Jada have a race down the stairs to see who gets to the bed first. I usually win by knocking Meg down the stairs and out of the way, but we decided to share it this time. I think next time I won't share though, I'll just be there first. Yeah, that's good.

The Best Time of Year!

"The moment that Curt brought home sacks of stuff from Petsmart yesterday,  I knew that Christmas was just a day away.  I am naturally curious and I couldn't help myself.  I had to find out what I was getting in my stocking.  I could smell the rawhide candy cane.  Curt and Meg don't try very hard to hide it from my nose... Anyway, I got a rawhide candy cane in my stocking (which I figured out beforehand) and a water Kong toy (which doesn't really interest me now but I can't wait to play with it at Bear Lake and Redfish Lake in the summer).  I love, love, love rawhide treats.  I got a really big one and Maggie got a smaller one but one of my rules is if you don't finish it right away then it's up for grabs."

~Jada

"When it gets cold outsyd then I know that Cristmas is coming soon.  About a week ago, me and Jada got into so much truble that I thought that I wusn't going to get anything for Cristmas but santa must not have been looking.  Cristmas is the best time of year when Kurtis and Meg are home so i can be insyd.  i love all the things about this tyme of year but being outsyd in the cold.  I got a fun thing for Cristmas. it is a frisby that i love to chew on.  maggie helped me chew it too.  i love frisbys. there the best!"

"It's obvious that I'm their favorite.  I love to be inside and sit on the back of the couch so I can see out the window the second they get home.  I love Christmas time.  It is the best time of year.  I always know that Santa won't disappoint.  I got a rawhide candy cane which I love to chew on until it's gone.  It was pretty big for my size.  Jada thought that I was done with mine so she took it but I was just taking a break.  So when I was ready to startup again I just started on hers.  Her rawhide was even bigger than mine.  It was a challenge to carry it around in my mouth but I managed.  I also got a soft plush animal.  It's a hedgehog.  His name is Sonic.  I thought that he was going to squeak like a regular toy but instead he let out this awful honking noise.  It scared me at first but then Meg played with me and I got used to the sound.  Now I think that it's so cute.  Now, enough about Christmas.  I heard a rumor going around that Paul is coming over for New Year's.  I really hope it's true!  I love it when he comes over and visits me!  He is one of my very best friends ever!  I love him so much!!"

Swimming Fun

Hello, it's Jada and Maggie here. A little while ago we went camping with Curt and Meg and one hot afternoon we got to play in a lake. We swam and swam and swam. It was great! The water was so nice and cool, it felt nice on such a hot day. Meg took some video of us swimming around.

The Story of Rolle

Hi, it's Rolle. I wanted to tell you all the story of how I got my name. To look at me now, I'm not very Rolle, just a solid lump of fun and licking. This is my mom Jada. Isn't she pretty? Jada had me and my brothers and sisters on The Chinese New Year and it was, of course, The Year of The Dog.

I came out first and, as you can see, was the only fawn boxer. Right away I knew where the good stuff was. I headed straight to the nipple. I muscled my way to the front of the pack to the prime nip and that is where I camped out for the next 6 weeks. If someone else was on my nip I pushed them aside.

This is me with two of my siblings. We were only a few hours old.

I liked mom right away, we had a special bond. I think I was her favorite, but don't tell the others.

After another tasty milk meal I decided to take a little nap.

I made sure not to wander too far away, well for one thing I couldn't see yet and I didn't want to miss any meals or snack times. This is my sister Layla. I think she was trying to get into prime position to get the best spot, but since she was the runt of our litter, I prevailed.

This is me and Franky after our eyes were open and our tails had been cut. (That was a horrible experience, but at least our tails didn't look like rat tails anymore.) Look at my little fat rolls on my arm.

This is all of us posing for few pictures Curt and Meg were taking.

We were old enough to start eating real dog food and it was so delicious, I couldn't get enough.

There were just too many other heads and mouths in this bowl so I decided to find another bowl with a little less competition.

I found a bowl with only one other mouth in it. Duke's bowl. He was nice to share with me.

After Duke's bowl was finished I was still hungry so I went to share with mom.

After all that eating I was pretty tired. I found a nice little place under a chair to take a nap.

So I kept eating and eating and eating. I grew nice and big.

That Time Again

Hello, just Maggie. Well it's that time again. Of course I'm talking about fur cut season. Meg and Curt gave me a cut yesterday and before they started I think I looked a lot like this. All beautiful and pristine with my fluffy wavy fur.
And after they were finished I really felt like this. Because summer is upon us I really got shaved, all over. I think it makes me look so unporportional. My feet look much bigger and my legs are so skinny and don't even get me started on my ears.  And on top of all that, I have a torpedo nose. Oh well, at least  it's nice and cool.

Well, until next time I guess. Enjoy.

Adventures of Rolle

Hi this is Rolle. I'm two years old and Jada is my mom. I've been staying with Curt and Meg for awhile and the other day I was playing in the water. I never knew it could be so much fun! I hope Meg will get the hose out again soon.

They Came Back!

Last week Curt and Meg went away and then they finally came back and I was so excited I could hardly stand it. I thought that maybe this would be the time they didn't come back, I know they've always come back before, but what if one of these times they don't. What would I do then? I hope they never leave me again. I am glad to be sleeping in my bed again.

Mumblings of a Brown Boxer

Last week Curt and Meg went away and we went to Craig and Carol's to stay. It was great! I didn't have to be stuck on the chain all day outside, I really liked it a lot. But I guess I did miss Curt and Meg. Curt will always wrestle with me and Meg gives me yummy treats. So to celebrate being home, me and Jada spent a lot of time laying around, it's was great. I love to lay around... and chase a frisbee... and lay around.

Jada's Daydream

Hi, it's Jada again.  So today I was staring out the window and wishing it was warmer weather.  I started thinking about all the fun I have in the summer when Curt and Meg take us camping.  I really like to go hiking and swimming and curl up by a warm fire and all that sort of stuff.  The only thing I don't like about camping is I always get pine sap all over me and it's super sticky and uncomfortable... oh and also, I tend to get sunburned.  Meg always tries to put sunscreen on my ears and head, but Duke inevitably licks it off.  Wonder how I could avoid that this summer.  Anyway, here are a few pictures of me frolicking last summer at Redfish Lake.

Sunday Mischief

What a great day! This morning Curt and Meg went... well I'm not sure where they went.  Wherever it is they go every sunday for a few hours.  Anyway, Jada and I were in the house together and we came up with a little plan.  Meg had left an entire container of donut holes and a loaf of bread on the counter. I could see it just peering over the side from where I was standing.  Now I've tried to reach stuff on the counter before, but my little legs just don't cut it.  But having Jada in the house with me changed everything this morning.  She was able to pull them down off the counter and we just had ourselves a yummy little snack in the dining room.  Mmmmm.  My little tummy was so full I could barely move, but I couldn't stop because it was so good. The best part; Curt and Meg thought it was pretty funny and we didn't even get into much trouble.  I hope Jada stays in with me more often.

Fun in the Snow? Not Always

Hi, it's Maggie. I'm sure you all looked at Meg's entry about the snow today and all the fun we had playing in it. And yes, today's snow frolicing was good times, however, there was a time, not long ago, when it was not such good times. We had a tremendous storm, much like the one we received today, late at night. Curtis and Meg took us all down to the park to play in it. Duke and Jada could jump through the snow with such ease, completely forgetting that I was only several inches tall and was, therefor, becoming buried by the immense amount of snow. But it was so fun to hop in the snow and play with everyone and I tried to hide it for as long as I could. Eventually, there was no more I could do. Meg discovered me in the snow unable to move due to my condition. She was so worried and carried me all the way back to the house, mostly, due to the fact that I was unable to walk on my own. When we got home, Meg gave me a warm bath to thaw the snow and then we cuddled up in bed together. She loves me so much and I love her too. I tell her so all the time with my nose kisses. I have included photo documentation of this fateful night.

Good Night

Tonight was such a great night! I went to L-Town with Meg and then we went to Paul and Alison's place.  When I got there, Paul was so excited to see me and he played with me and gave me some chips.  Then, Meg and Alison left and it was just me and Paul.  He let me cuddle up on his lap and pet me the whole time!  He is probably my third favorite person....yep, I'm sure of it. He told me how much he loved me and wished I could stay there with him. He calls me his princess in the pea and here's a picture of me.

I Love the Weekends

Hello, this is Maggie.  I just love the weekends!  It's so fun to have Curt and Meg home so I can always cuddle up on their lap.  I also get a lot of good food on the weekends.  During the week, when they're gone, I have to settle for the dry stuff they put in my bowl.  Blah.  Like, lastnight, I got some of Meg's sandwich and some Cheetos.  Aaaah, it was great!  On the weekends, I can also go outside to go to the bathroom anytime I want. Since I stay inside during the week I just have to hold it.  I've gotten pretty good at that too, my record is about 14 hours.  This morning was one of my favorite mornings. I just stretched out and Curt and Meg scratched my ears and my back, it felt wonderful! I think Duke and Jada probably like to weekends too because they get to be inside. They spend the weeks outside and Duke has been spending his, lately, on the chain.  That poor sap, I just look at him through the window and think, "Why can't you just stay in the yard."  Oh well, at least it's not me out there.

Sprucing Things Up

Hi, this is Jada...the smart one. So I was walking around the back yard today and realized that, with all this snow, it's pretty bland and boring out there. Duke has been on the chain lately because, despite my warnings, he's gotten out of the yard a lot lately. I keep telling him that there's nothing that great on the outside anyway and Curt and Meg sure worry about him, especially Meg. There was a big spool of green ribbon sitting on the dryer in the laundry room so I took it out to Duke on the patio. I figured it would give him something to do and also spruce up the place a bit with some nice color. He did a real nice job of dispersing it around the patio table and chairs, definitely an improvement. I'll look around in the laundry room tomorrow and see if there is anything else I can take out to him.

What a Wonderful Day!

Hello, this is Duke. I am a big brown Boxer. I had the most wonderful day today! I especially loved the part when Megan came home so I could come in the house (it sure is freezing cold outside). So I especially like to go into the laundry room and make a mess. Then Curtis fed all of us (Me, Jada, and Maggie) some leftover ham for dinner. It tasted so good, unlike that other crap that they give us morning and night day in and day out. After that I just laid down by the fireplace where there was a fire and I took a good long nap and it was so warm! I hope that tomorrow is exactly like today only better.

A Dog's Day

Hello, This is Maggie. I'm a Mini Schnauzer. Don't ask me how I'm able to type on the computer. I just wanted to say that I had a great day. I've been able to stay inside all day today! It's winter and it's really cold outside! I snuggle up to Curtis or Megan when they're sitting on the couch and it's wonderful!
